Wellness Mantra for the Week
Updated: Apr 3, 2019
Tibetan Sound Healing is an ancient healing modality that utilises the deep vibrations and soothing sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls to bring relief from many different ailments and stress-related conditions. The modality dates back to pre-Buddist Tibetan Bon culture where the instruments were used for ceremonial purposes, rituals and also for healing. Sound Healing is an extremely powerful and non-intrusive method to release stress and reduce physical pain. Every week i advocate a wellness mantra, thats when I chanced upon a sound healing session combined with Yin Yoga. It sounded like an interesting combination to say the least!
To my delight this was a calming event. The yoga session was very light and didn't involve too many demanding asanas allowing the recipients to seep into a beautifully lucid and calm state . Once you are all limber and relaxed , the sound healing practitioner then bathes the recipients in melodious sounds deepening our meditative experience . Come and elevate yourself and others as you envelop yourself in the sound current with Sumitra and Samantha . Tibetan bowls coupled with the smell of sage and patchouli, its a session one can enjoy with friends ,and family.
A bonding session with a bff or a partner is much recommended, a joy to indulge in deep spaces together, is what this sound healing is all about. Afterwards, children and participants can learn about the bowl with some hands-on interaction. In a city like Bombay we need to have innovative and relaxing ways to destress. I found Tibetan sound healing combined with yin yoga an ideal way to relax.
